RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Flamengo are set to turn a loan deal for Fiorentina striker Pedro into a permanent move, according to Brazilian press reports.
The reigning Brazilian and Copa Libertadores champions have agreed to exercise an option to purchase the 23-year-old for around 14 million euros (17 million US dollars), the Lance news outlet said.
Pedro, whose current deal with Flamengo expires this month, has scored 20 goals in 38 matches since joining the Rio de Janeiro side in January.
He was rewarded for his prolific form with a Brazil call-up and he made his international debut in a 1-0 win over Venezuela in November.
The former Fluminense prodigy made just four appearances for Fiorentina after he was signed by the Italian Serie A club in September 2019 on a five-year contract.
