BEIJING -- "I think what we experienced in Beijing 2008 was exactly what we want to translate to the whole world, to change the view of societies towards persons with disability and change the mindset," International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons said on Sunday, the 31st National Disability Day in China that also marks the 100-day countdown until the start of the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Parsons, who participated with the Brazilian delegation at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, told Xinhua of his confidence in how Beijing will change the way that the Paralympic Winter Games is delivered.

NEW DELHI -- "We don't want the gains that we have achieved in the past days to go vain at once, so we are extending the lockdown for one more week," New Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Sunday.

DAKAR -- The Confucius Institute at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar is "one of the flagships of cooperation" between Senegal and China, its former executive director Mamadou Fall said Saturday.

The institute "is a building which gives an unparalleled appeal," Fall told Xinhua in an interview.

"The institute's main vocation was to teach Chinese language and culture, but the rectorate had the foresight to give it a much more open orientation by integrating vocational education into its curriculum," he said.
